Sunshine is Unique

kidsYou’ll notice it the minute you walk into one of our centers. The reason is simple: we are committed to a higher standard of excellence and quality in child care. We strive to be a place where parents are excited about leaving their children, because they know they will be cared for in a safe and loving environment.

Since 1984, Sunshine has serviced the families of the Santa Clarita Valley! We focus on achieving quality, providing balanced programs, and strive to provide an environment where academic excellence, socialization and character training produce an educated, responsible and respectful child. We strive to provide a safe, loving, consistent, secure, moral, exciting, and “special” place that each child looks forward to coming to each and every day!

Sunshine is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. Sunshine offers preschool, school-age and summer camp programs to children ages 3 -12.

The Sunshine Promise

To provide a learning environment that meets the developmental and emotional needs of children.
To develop a child’s character and self-worth by teaching him/her to place proper value on others and self.
To positively reinforce traditional family values such as honesty, respect and love.
To employ people who uphold Sunshine’s high standards of quality and excellence.
To give parents peace of mind because they know that their child is being cared for in a safe and loving environment.

Character Curriculum

Perhaps the most unique of Sunshine’s programs is our character curriculum. Building character is important as children mature. That is why our character program is built into the very fabric of Sunshine. Subjects include gratitude, personal responsibility, respect for others, and the value of compassion and caring. Each month, our entire focuses on a particular character trait and its definition. Children are encouraged to be respectful, kind, polite, honest and fair. When they display these traits, they receive praise and positive reinforcement. Sunshine staff work very closely with parents in reinforcing these character traits both in the school and home environment.

Sunshine’s Mission Statement

Sunshine Day Camp is a privately owned and operated organization that exists to service families with “Excellence” in child care. We are an organization that operates on the belief and application of traditional and conservative principles and ethics that are found in the Bible and in the traditional and conservative values of our country. Our philosophy and emphasis is honoring God, our country, cultivating the importance of family and in teaching moral character to our children. We do not subscribe to any particular denomination or church affiliation.

We focus on achieving quality, providing balanced programs, and strive to provide an environment where academic excellence, socialization and character training produce an educated, responsible and respectful child.

While recognizing that the parents should be the central and primary influences on their children, it is our goal to establish a cooperative team relationship with each of our families and to be more than “just a school” for the families we serve. We strive to provide a safe, loving, consistent, secure, moral, exciting and “special” place that each child looks forward to coming to each and every day.

Finally, we desire to complement the parental training that occurs in the homes of our families and provide a program that supports our parent’s efforts to train the hearts and minds of the future generation.
