What's New?

Whether they’ve been with us for many years or just one, your child will have a great time at Sunshine Day Camp!

Daily Themes: Each day will have a daily theme but the theme is just the beginning!  Within the theme, we jam-pack the day with a variety of activities all campers will enjoy.  In addition, we have a weekly dress up days (dressing up is completely optional) that add to the excitement.

Return of Field Trips (Entering Grades 1-6 Only): After a brief hiatus due to COVID precaution, we are resuming field trips again!  This year we will be adding 4 trips, Golf N Stuff, Santa Barbara Zoo, Bowling, and Edward’s Cinema.  Field trips are available to children entering grades 1-6 only.  Optional stay back care is offered to all children (TK-6th) on field trip days.

Special Guest Entertainers:  For the weeks we are not going on a field trip we will be hosting a special guest entertainer.  Guest entertainers offer a fun and immersive camp experience!  This year’s guest entertainers include Megan Makes Bubbles, Dave the Magician, Color Me Mine, and the Reptile Show.

Hot Lunches & Kona Ice: This summer we will offer a hot lunch option each day, with a special hot lunch from select vendors (including In-n-Out and Chick-Fil-A) each week.  Additionally, the Kona Ice truck will visit weekly, allowing children a cold treat on those hot summer days.

For more information, see our 2023 Summer Camp Calendar below.  For those enrolled in our camp, a detailed weekly information sheet will be provided, including added daily, hot lunch options, field trip times, and more.

“Sunshine Day Camp is a very trusting child care provider. My son has been with Sunshine for about 4 years and loves going. He never tells me he doesn’t want to go, and there are times I pick him up and he wants to stay longer. I am very comfortable leaving my son in the counselor’s hands. Sunshine Day Camp does stuff like ice cream socials and BBQs where the parents can come and join. I would not move my son out of Sunshine Day Camp for anything. Best place for a child!”

The Sunshine Day Camp Difference

Quality Programs

Did you know that many summer camps run by their own set of rules? As a licensed childcare, Sunshine Day Camp operates under the strict requirements of the State of California (including COVID compliance). This, coupled with our child-focused philosophy, provides your family with an exceptional and safe camp experience.

Awesome Activities

Campers enjoy a variety of theme days and activities carefully crafted and planned to interest all personality types. In addition, we have special guest entertainers, rallies, and field trips. Children are organized in small groups by grade/age to allow for common interests, ability, and more individual attention.

Sensational Staff

Not only do we take special pride in our programs, we also take special care in the people we hire! Sunshine Day Camp counselors are sensitive, caring, and enthusiastic leaders. Many of them work in our programs throughout the year, meaning they are seasoned Sunshine Day Camp employees.  Each employee undergoes a rigorous background check and training process on such topics as positive reinforcement, appropriate discipline techniques, and effective child supervision.

low child to staff ratio icon
Low Child-to-Staff Ratio

At Sunshine Day Camp, children are under constant adult supervision on campus and on field trips.  Ratios are typically around 12 children to 1 adult (compared to 20 to 1 at some competing summer camps). During water activities, our ratios are 6 to 1. We feel that quality supervision equals a safer environment and better experience for your child.

Kid-friendly Facilities

It may surprise you to know that many summer camps don’t have access to indoor facilities during the day. At each Sunshine Day Camp locations, we have safe, decorated, and climate-controlled facilities throughout the day—a necessity given Santa Clarita’s hot weather.
