Décor, Theme, and Room Presentation Ideas

Start with a Vision

  • It is really important to come up with a meaningful concept for your bulletin boards and/or room. Once you come up with a theme, the ideas come quick and easy! It brings unity to the room if you have your theme carry across all bulletin boards (see photos below).
  • You want whatever you are presenting to pop out, keep the boards clean and simple.
  • To make a lasting impression, put your heart and personal touch into it! Use colors, concepts, themes and ideas that you and your children love.

Classroom Management Tips

January marks the half way point of the school year! Be sure not to lose momentum in your planning, attitude, and classroom management.  Use these tips to help you after winter break:

  1. Tip 1: Keep Building Relationships- Are there children in your group you have not had time to connect with? Do you have new children in your group? Spend time with those children to build rapport and a trusting relationship.
  2. Tip 2: Incentives- Do you have an incentive program established in your room? If not, now is the time to create one! If you already have one, is it working? Are you being consistent? Do your children respond well to the incentives you have in place? If your incentive program is not working, you may need to come up with a new one.
  3. Tip 3: Set Goals- Create New Year’s resolutions with your group and stick to them until the end of the school year!
